Can i withdraw a witness statement after the court date is set?

And if I can what are the consequences for me?|||That depends, we have police department forms for witness's that state at the bottom that by signing it you are swearing under penality of perjury... and yes they do hold up in court when you are prosecuted for perjury.

If the paper does not state on it that you are somehow subject to perjury then you can probably just take it back, though you could still be charged with something else like hindering prosecution or the like...

Call an attorney|||Yes you can but you need to do it via your solicitor. You are not 'on oath' unless you are in court. Without your permission it cannot legally be used. Do not delay.|||Max go see your lawyer now. If you have lied in a statement, it is very illegal. A court date is not a day out, if you have given false evidence you need to talk up NOW.
